it just might be coming home … Again.

the 2025 women’s euro in switzerland has been nothing short of a show.

prior to the tournament, there was already chatter around group d (france, netherlands, england, and wales) being “the group of death”, and plenty of theories that no one would be able to stop reigning world cup champions spain. lets just say… both of those story lines have yet to disappoint.

Keep in mind… the Lionesses stunned the world with a first match loss to the youngster heavy French squad 2 to 1. Then they bounced back to beat the Netherlands rather easily 2 to 0, followed by a 6 to 1 blowout against first time tournament participants Wales. It might sound like smooth sailing after negating that early group stage loss, but escaping the group of death was just the beginning for the girls in red and white.

England came back from two goals down thanks to the brilliance of 19-year-old substitute Michelle Agyemang. Afterward, Lucy Bronze and Hannah Hampton sealed the deal for the squad in a penalty kick shootout.

And if you thought the soccer gods couldn’t get more generous than that…

Down 1 to 0 to Italy in the semis until the 96th minute, England’s savior Agyemang struck again. Literally. sending the English side into extra time and into the hands of the one and only Chloe Kelly.

Girllll, did she deliver. In the 119th minute, the nation’s hero came in clutch once again for her side, slotting in the rebound of her own PK won by Beth Mead to send the Lionesses to their second consecutive EURO final.

Spain has made an impressive run, dominating the tournament and winning every single game leading up to the final where they’ll be facing defending European champions England. The Lionesses, however, defying all odds, have been granted one last shot to bring the trophy home in back to back tournaments.

what. a journey.

what. drama.

what. a. show.

as lucy bronze said herself, “are you not entertained?”

make sure to tune into the final this sunday the 27th for a grand finale not even the likes of gill scott could have dreamed up. the 2025 women’s euro has over delivered. but who will be bringing it home?

because I always have a need to interject my opnion… my bet is on the soccer gods and the talents of the lioness squad to remind the spanish once and for all, they are at the top of the game.
